This is the CD that started it all. When I started my quest to find recovery music, I searched the Internet and found this CD. Skeptical at first, I thought I would find it full of amateurish songs thrown together by “one of us.” What a surprise! From the moment I received this CD, I have been amused and inspired by its songs. Many of the songs on this CD have been my favorite only to be edged out by another.

When I ordered this music CD I was hoping for a little entertainment to help pass some time. From the first song I was captured. This album tells a story. The story is not about losing a job, a wife or big Ford trucks. It’s a story about finding something big, the path to finding Serenity, Spirituality, Fellowship and Freedom, one step (or song) at a time. I started by buying one CD for this review and have since ordered three more for family and friends. This is a great gift for anyone involved in recovery and the twelve steps. The Twelve Songs CD has inspired me in so many ways. When I listened to step one, I had been sober for 17 1/2 yrs and had relapsed on pain meds. The very first song, What Happened To Me, got to my soul and helped me surrender and begin my sobriety over. All twelve songs have inspired me in some way. Reach encourages me to keep carrying the message. After all, you can't keep it if you don't give it away. I loved your CD and I listened to it for eight hours on a trip! I tried to envision what you must have gone through during that black time in your life. You were fortunate to find a way out. I gave my copy to a friend whose daughter has a drinking problem. They have tried intervention. Nothing is working. I'm hoping she will listen to your CD and maybe relate to it. You never know what could trigger her to get help. If ONE person changes their life because of your music, it affects the whole family. I am a 12 stepper via another door. My fellowship is Compulsive Eaters Anonymous HOW concept. There are many in our fellowship who are cross addicted and active members of AA as well as CEA HOW. We suffer from the same addictive personalities and the 12 Steps are our path to recovery. We simply substitute the word "food" for "alcohol." Otherwise, we identify absolutely. I found you through a link from AA don't know exactly how I got there, but God had a plan. I listened to your CD and you have a lovely voice and style. Mary Lyn, Today I received the CD. It is great. I saw a link to your site on the Recovery Emporium. I really related to the 4th step song remembering doing some of those same things. I listened to Twelve Songs at a women's retreat and fell in love with the music and the message. When I listened to the third song, I was overcome with emotion and I fell in love with my creator all over again. Then I laughed my head off on the fourth song. What a range of emotions you have touched in me. I am going to use Twelve Songs as a tool with my sponsees as they go through the steps. I am also a drug and alcohol counselor and carry the message in a treatment center and I am going to use your music to help carry the message. I am drawn to page 164 of the Big Book. My wife (Al Anon) listened to her copy of your CD on the way to work this morning and called to tell me how much she liked it. She got up song #8 while sitting in Norfolk traffic! I have had your CD now for three days and still tear up with a gratitude unlimited when I hear and feel the song, What Happened to Me. You did such a fantastic job of telling in a general way what we all were like, what happened, and what we are like now. If anyone can listen to that song and not have a grapefruit sized lump in their throats, I can not imagine it. All the songs are tremendous, yet my three favorites are, of course, What Happened to Me, 90 Meetings in 90 Days, and In These Rooms!
